Clutter on OMAP3
OMAP3 SGX graphics pipeline is an outstanding technology and the support for OGLES 2.0 and OpenVG 1.1 provides a great ground to innovative graphics interfaces. Now, OGLES is a framework target for generic 3D graphics (like scientific visualization at at some level game development), but the questions most of us had is, how do I use it to improve me UI? I want iPhone like graphics!
This was a proposed topic for my thesis for some time, but then I realized the guys at openhanded has done a terrific job with the clutter toolkit to address the very same problem. So I give it a try. Some small bugs reported, updating our glib and pango ports, and 45 minutes later I got clutter working nicely on the OMAP3 EVM (will be trying on beagleboard soon). Just the demos itself are impressive, and the tutorials available points that I will be creating some amazing UIs really soon... if I can find some time!
I will be adding some integration for our gstreamer port to use the clutter gst actors as well, and give it some time to the webkit actor to madurate (it seems text entry isn't ready yet).
