Supported Operating Systems

  • Linux Distribution
    • Ubuntu 9.04 in 32 bits.
    • Ubuntu 9.10 in 32 bits.

SDK Details

the SDK is still on ALPHA-VERSION , by the moment it support

Required Hardware

  • Logic PD Zoom AM3517 Experimenter Kit
  • NULL MODEM Cable (Not included with Zoom Experimenter Kit).
  • Ethernet Crossover Cable (Not included with Zoom Experimenter Kit).
  • USB A to B cable (Not included with Zoom Experimenter Kit).

Recommended Hardware

  • Logic PD 4.3” WQVGA Display Kit
  • Powered USB Hub
    • Recommeded that ports support 500mA if webcam will be used.
    • Required for USB Keyboard and/or Mouse (Experimenter Kit does not provide sufficient current).
  • USB Keyboard
    • Must be connected through a Powered USB Hub.
  • USB Mouse
    • Must be connected through a Powered USB Hub.

Software Requirements

  • Minicom Interface.
sudo apt-get install minicom
$sudo apt-get install xinetd tftpd tftp
    • Create /etc/xinetd.d/tftp
$sudo gedit /etc/xinetd.d/tftp
    • fill in the file with the configuration below
service tftp
protocol        = udp
port            = 69
socket_type     = dgram
wait            = yes
user            = nobody
server          = /usr/sbin/in.tftpd
server_args     = /srv/tftp
disable         = no
    • Make /srv/tftp directory and change permissions features
$ sudo mkdir /srv/tftp
$ sudo chmod -R 777 /srv/tftp
$ sudo chown -R nobody /srv/tftp
    • Restart tftpd through xinetd
$sudo /etc/init.d/xinetd restart

    • EHCI host supporting MSC, HID(via a HS hub) and USB Audio/Video
    • NAND
    • UART
    • I2C
    • TouchScreen
    • SPI
    • RTC(on AM3517)
    • Keypad(on OMAP35x)
    • CAN - SocketCAN implementation (on AM3517)
    • Power Management ICs (TPS65023 on AM3517, TPS65950 on OMAP35x)
  • Pre-built binaries for X-loader, U-Boot, Linux kernel and filesystem.

What's Not Supported

Following are not supported:

  • U-boot (OneNand support on OMAP35x)
  • Keypad(on AM3517)
  • NOR support (on AM3517EVM)

Known Bugs

The SDK Linux Kernel and Uboot used , are based on the PSP_03.00.00.0 the Known Bugs are documented on their wiki page here.
